9~Favorite Couple

There are so many wonderful couples to choose from... but only two really stick out in my mind. The runner up being Jasmine and Aladdin because of how perfectly together. And the winners are (drumroll please.....)

Shang and Mulan

These two amaze me with how adorable they are and how destined for each other they truly are. All things that make a Disney couple spectacular. Shang cannot deny his connection to Mulan even when he thinks of her as a man. They are always in sync and care about the other ones, even in their odd predictament. Then Captain Shang discovers that his favorite recruit is in fact a woman. You can see the look of hurt on his face when he walks into the medical tent. But even after everything she has put him through he loves her. He cannot deny his love for Mulan and when he offers her the sword at the end in the garden it is such a touching moment. It is obvious that these two are meant for each other.

*8* Saddness =,(

The saddest moment in a Disney movie to me, is the death of Mufasa. The beginning of the movie introduces us to not only cute little Simba, but his majestic father Mufasa. Who is seemingly a wonderful ruler and father. Then we get crushed as Scar unfairly justifies killing his brother in order to gain power. I feel a jab of pain everytime that I see the look on Mufasa's face once he realizes he is losing his life only because of his brother's greed. There are two main reasons (besides the obvious fact of his complete death) that this moment ranks saddest. One, it was totally preventable as Scar was obviously evil and should have been banished a long time before this. And then the other reason is that Simba basically looks on as his father is murdered, and then is brainwashed into believing it was his fault. The effects this has on our protagonist is one of the things that makes me want to cry. I never really do, but I always feel pangs of saddness.

6+7

So I like everyone was really busy and missed a day of the challenge. Yesterday was my grad party which was a very good time! So I did not have the time to blog since I was doing stuff from the time i got up til when the party ended at 3 (after watching Donnie Darko late at night). Anywho.... here is my choices for six and seven--

Six-Prettiest Princess

I'm sorry but I don't care if this whole thing is some huge challenge. But I will not pick a prettiest princess. I have my favorites, but they are all beautiful in different ways. I mean belle with her huge eyes, Jasmine as an Arabic princess is so unique, Cinderella is has such a presence about her, Ariel is a beautiful redhead, Snow white is so demure, and though my least favorite Aurora has grace that any princess should. Which makes them all worthy of the Prettiest title.

Day 7-Favorite Castle

Cinderella's is my favorite. Only because it obviously held a special place in the genious Walt Disney's heart because it is the only one he treasured enough to bring to life as the main fixture of both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. I can't wait, however until the fantasyland expansion is complete to see all the princesses homes that they are adding in. But even still Cinderellas' is a majestic masterpiece. Especially at Christmas as shown in my picture.

Day 5! Favorite Kiss(es)

Well, I tried my hardest to not have any of these blogs contain a tie... but here it is. My choices for favorite kiss are kind of unusual. But I base my favorite kiss with different standards. Every movie has a sweet tender kiss that gets the two characters together for ever.... but I like my choices because they make me smile everytime I watch them and have such great meanings behind the scenes in which they happen.

The first one, is when after Sebastian is done singing Kiss the Girl, Prince Eric tries to kiss Ariel. But honestly this is an ultimate fail. Its so sweet though and purely honest. And maybe even hinting that kissing someone right away doesn't neccessarily mean you're meant to be... but someone who fights for you is really worth it. I also love that its so entirely clear that Ariel and Eric are meant to be with each other even though she doesn't speak at all. So though there is technically no kiss at this moment its still tied for my favorite kiss.

My other favorite kiss, is a real kiss, except its a daydream. In the princess diaries, Mia imagines what her first foot popping kiss will be like. Well, she imagines it with the wrong guy (michael is way cuter and so much better for her especially in the books). Well imagining it with the wrong guy ends up with her foot sticking to gum, and then getting caught in a net. So its comical, and life altering. Love it.

Day 4! Favorite Song

So I was kinda hoping that throughout this challenge I wouldn't talk about the same movie two days in a row. But thats not happening. My favorite song by far is A Whole New World from Aladdin. It's brilliant and magical. It's everything a good song should be. Its so very romantic and sung in unison. I love the duet quality. Also I love how at the end of the song they sit and watch fireworks and Jasmine calls Aladdin out because she knows he's the guy from the streets that she's always loved. This song is just beautiful and I could listen to it over and over.

Day 3~Favorite Prince

I'm heading off to the beach with some lovely
people so I'm not sure I'd get any other time to write this challenge than now. So here it is. My favorite Prince as manny of you know is Aladdin (dubbed by Genie as Prince Ali). He was an orphaned beggar boy, but love and curiousity lead him to be more. Once he marries Jasmine he truly becomes a Prince. Aladdin is the perfect guy to me, because he's the cutest disney guy(yes Haley the cutest), he's the most charming 9even more than Prince Charming) and he's funny and cunning. He has real street skills(which being from Woonsocket I treasure lol). He's also just an all around smart and great guy. Oh and one last thing,,, every time I've ever seen an Aladdin at Disney they are oh so fine haha. I also admire Aladdin because though this is a love story and a traditional arrangement for Disney and it even features one of their princesses the movie is entitled Aladdin and focuses the story on him. So long story short Aladdin is wicked awesome. (and if you want to get technical about the prince thing... which I don't... my second fav is Eric thanks to Haley).

Roomie Adventure/ Toy Story 3(spoiler alert)

So, I've just gotten back from Rommie adventure numbah one! Me and Caitie (my future Dis roommate) and I went to Bellingham to night to hang out. We got some cold stone's(so good, but melted too quick), walked around a bit talking, and then saw Toy Story 3(for my third time and her second lol). We had a lot of fun getting to know each other even better, and the best part was watching the movie with someone who loved it just as much as me.

Now, for the movie. Since I've just watched it for the third time I'd like to use this blog to discuss the most awaited movie (by me) ever. ELEVEN YEARS!!!!! That's craziness. The first time I saw this movie was last thursday at the midnight showing, and while sitting on the hard tile allowing my butt to fall asleep waiting for them to let us into the theatre, I turned to my friend Brigid and said.... "You know, for most movies when a sequel comes out I'm petrified. I get so nervous that they are gonna ruin everything. But not this time, because pixar knows what to do" and then she turned to me and said "good, but this movie better be better than the first two combined because I want to sleep."

These quotes pretty much sum up the movie, or at least my take on it. No, I'm not sure if it was better than the other two combined, but it was AMAZING. There were moments were everyone in the theatre want to cry, we laughed, we awed and a smile did not escape from my face. The story line was brilliantly executed, and crafted. They covered abandonment and escape with a fresh take instead of rehashing old scenes from the first two movies. Our favorite characters were back with the same depth and the same stories to back them up. The only difference was the welcome Spanish mode Buzz, and of course the return of the AstroNut" which is always my favorite. Then the new characters didn't disappoint either. They blended right in with our old friends. Favorites of mine was the comedic take of Ken, and the new dinosaur Trixie who will make a fine match for my all time favorite guy Rex. Another impressive part was the character of Bonnie. Though the ending made all of us kids want to cry, Pixar knew how to do that while still leaving us happy. Bonnie is the most adorable pixar kid ever (even more so than Andy I think) and her spirit is in unison with our beloved Andy. If our toys had to be left at someone else's house to better their lives than I'm glad it was Bonnie's!

This leads me to another point. I've heard people calling this the final in a triology... however has Pixar ever released it as a finale? Because while the ending would leave one satisified, there is still more story that could be told. Why not develop Bonnie's other toys into full blown characters? If there ever was a group of story tellers able to take this series and add another sequel to it(which im sure would be just as popular as this one) and have the story still believeable and loveable, then the guys at Pixar could..

I could not have asked for a better addition to my favorite movie series. Thank you Pixar for astonishing me once again, this time with Toy Story 3!

Day 2~Favorite Princess

My favorite Princess is Belle from Beauty in the Beast. She always has been my favorite, ever since I was little. Also, just the story in genral has meant alot to me. I saw it on broadway and on ice. Also I performed in it during fourth grade (I played the aslyum guy and a towns girl). I've always related the most to Belle, because she was able to be herself no matter what anyone thought. And, though I don't look like her, she is the Princess that closest resembles me what with dark hair and dark eyes. I love the Belle has the power to be who she wants to be, and the courage to stand up to anyone including a ferocious beast and a pretenious jerk (gaston) all to protect her father and what she believes in. Belle is and has always been my favorite Princess.

Bored, and thinking... what a combination

So I'm a little bored on this tuesday night, and have already used up a blog challenge.... so I've just been sitting around thinking about Disney and decided to blog about it. I had this crazy idea... well its not crazy just random. I think that all of us Disboarders (and others too) should start our own little challenge thing when we get down there. I think we should do a Character Challenge...like something about whoever takes the most pictures with the most characters wins. But there has to be rules, and maybe even a point system. Like

1point for a normal easy too find character

half a point for a common character in a different outfit(like safari mickey compared to regular mickey)

and two points for rare characters (ones that aren't always out)

We could even decide to stretch this for our entire program or just one month, one week, or i guess even one day.

Okay, yes I have no life, but it was just an idea I had. Let me know what you think.

Day 1~Favorite Disney Movie

TOY STORY

This probably comes as no surprise, but my all time favorite Disney movie is Toy Story. There's so many reasons why, and I'm happy to be able to use this blog to explain them.

First of all, I am the most proud of this movie then anything else Disney has created. It's changed the face of modern animation, which was not an easy feat. Toy Story is the first movie that Disney and Pixar put out, and since its release there have been ten more Pixar films that have all been high successes. Not only did Toy Story help provide us Disney fanatics with such classics as Finding Nemo and Up, but this film also gave way to its two sequels. Both of these sequels have their own accomplishments. Toy Story 2, showed the world that a sequel CAN be just as good as the first. It also highlighted the brillance of Pixar's heartwarming moments such as Jessie in her seen "When she loved Me." And now the third one(which I plan on providing an entire blog post for) is on its way to breaking records.

Besides, the brilliant animation and all of the works that we have been blessed by because of Toy Story, there are other reasons why I love this film. Every single character is appealing to me, honestly I even enjoy the character of Sid because I can totally picture him as the kid that used to live next door to me. Each character has their own flaws (Woody is insanely jealous, while Rex has small arms). And each has their own story lines. But all fit into one evenly crafted fresh plot line. Never before were toys such appealing characters as they are in Toy Story.

I could watch this movie(and its sequels) everyday. And sometimes I do. I own a Mrs. Potato Head, a Rex stuff animal, and wayyyyyyy too many Toy Story Knick Knacks. When down in Florida, if given the opportunity to work at Pizza Planet I would be more than thrilled. Because not only is Toy Story my favorite Disney movie of all time, its my favorite movie of all time.

CHALLENGE

Okay so here's a quick update. starting tomorrow I will be participating in Haley's Disney 30 Day challenge. I would post the list of each thing we have to pick and describe, but my computer won't let me copy it onto here. But just you all wait to see all my answers =)

Graduation and Such

Okay, so I haven't written a blog in a long time. Well, there is a reason for that. First, nothing worth writing about was happening. And then all of a sudden everything was. And therefore this blog will be looong to make up for it. Anyways here it goes. This past week was senior week that led up into graduation and it was more fun then I thought it would be (but I think that's because I made it that way haha). So this is how my week went. Once you all start spending time with me you'll see that I like to use lists alot sinc e I find it easier for my jumbled mind to be organized.

Monday--This was the first day of rehearsels and it was pretty pointless if you were a part of NHS. All that monday consisted of was lining up behind who you were supposed to be. So honor society kids already knew and had already done this so we went through mad quick. Then I had a quick theatre rehearsel (we did a mini glee tribute dance thing at graduation). After that I was happy to go to lunch with two of my close friends Emily and Corey at the Castle. We had fun but had a kooky waiter. It made me realize how much I'm gonna miss them (well technically I already knew that since Corey had been missing all year.)

Tuesday--This was the most boring day of all becaus eit was another pointless rehearsel... but then only work followed.

Wednesday--This was class day. Where we all dress up in our caps and gowns and get awards. I actually won two one for business and one for French. So that was cool. But what was not was having to listen to a slect member jazz band performance. I don't know if any of you are Lady Gaga fans but some kids from my school tortured Bad Romance and it was terrible. Much later I went shopping and then to friendly's with my friend Brigid (and again I was reflective of the past four years and how much I'll miss laughing with that girl).

Thursday-- This was probably my favorite day of the week. In the morning we had rehearsel (yes they make us rehearse this many times because apparently getting 335 kids to walk in a straight line is hard haha). But after was the senior cookout. And even though I just can't wait to be away from Woonsocket it was nice to spend one last time with everyone. Including the principals who got into the dunk tank. Afterwards though we went to my friend's house and blue up a million balloons while watching Toy Story.... because that night we went to see Toy Story 3 at midnight. It was awesome and I think later in the week (after I see it a couple more times) I'm going to dedicate a whole blog to it. There were even kids dressed up as Sid, Buzz, Woody and a male Bo Peep.

Friday--This was graduation day. The day I had been waiting for for thirteen years. I had such a great time, especially since I got to sit with my best friend Corey on one side(he;s the one in the pic on the top of the page) and my other friend Kim. The three of us just commented on everything and made the day fun even though it was so hot. After graduation and dinner with my family we threw a mini fire at my house which is a summer staple. I had way more fun graduating than I had thought I would.

Saturday-- i stopped by three parties and had I a pretty good day seeing everyone. Other events also allowed me to come to the realization that with Disney right around the corner I need to cut all the negitive influences out of my life once and for all.

So anyways, Like I said this blog was really long. But get used to it because I tend to be a long-winded person. Overall, this past week was a great conclusion to my high school career. And now I can't wait to be on my way to Disney. Look out for many more blogs ahead because its summer and I'll have a little bit of time on my hands. =)
